Service User/Carer Governor (Bromley Adult)

I'm a Service User/Carer Governor representing service user and carer members who use our Adult services (Adult Mental Health and Older Adults Mental Health) in the Bromley borough. I've been a Governor since 2017.

Governor: Steve Pleasants
Service User/Carer Governor (Bromley Adult): Steve Pleasants

About me

I have used Oxleas services since 2013 and believe that service users have an unique insight into how services are run.

I am a member of Bromley ResearchNet, I have served in the Royal Air Force. My most recent job until 2013 was working as a Manager in West End Theatres.

Why I became a governor

I became a governor as I want to be able to work with Oxleas and my fellow governors to support and maintain best practice across all of the services it provides.

As a service user I know how it feels to use Oxleas which gives me a unique insight.

I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge of services as well as encouraging people to join as members.

My hobbies and interests

I enjoy visiting historic places of interest, attending air shows, country walks, listening to classical music.

I am a member of the Norwood Historical Society. I support the Poppy Factory in Richmond and the RAF Charitable Trust who run the annual Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford in Gloucestershire.

I am house keeper to 1 adorable cat called Mozart (my favourite composer).
