I'm a Staff Governor representing staff members in Bexley Care. I've been a Governor since 2020.
I'm a Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD), BSc, MSc, Queen’s Nurse.
I've fulfilled a wide range of roles including:
I have now been a qualified nurse for 22 years, with my variety of experience and knowledge base I feel that I have the right skills and experience to be able to fulfil the role of a Governor.
Personally, I want to understand further the role of the Council of Governors, and I will be able to represent the interests of the staff for Bexley Care.
During my career I have always developed good working relationships with professionals/outside agencies/teams and have a good understanding of their roles and ensured that the patient care was central to all decisions made.
In my current role, one of my strengths is that I have developed effective working relationships with key professionals across the services. This partnership working is essential for embedding changes and good practice. I feel that this is the best thing about being a Governor, in that I will be able to influence good practice, ensuring that staff and patients are kept at the heart of what Oxleas strives towards.
I'm an active member of St Paulinus Church and a member of the choir.
I'm the Safeguarding Adults lead for St Paulinus Church.
I attend the SLGR Running Club - twice a week.
I have caring responsibility for my elderly mother in law who lives with my family.
