For this award, we have joint-winners.

Winner:

The Infection Prevention and Control Team

During the Coronavirus pandemic, Helen and Emma have worked tirelessly to continue to provide the most up to date advice and guidance to staff across the whole organisation, something that in itself would usually be challenging enough but in the light of rapidly changing and sometimes conflicting guidance, they have continued to provide clear, concise direction for us all.

They have ensured our service users and patients are not exposed to unnecessary risks by providing staff with knowledge and skills to prevent and manage infection.

Information has been reviewed to ensure that lessons learned both within the trust and in the wider health and social care community is used to improve our own practice.

Version after version of updated guidance has been produced as they have responded to the ever changing 'new normal'.

They have been able to work in partnership with other teams across the organisation and across London to ensure that the advice they give is up to date, clear and practicable and have been at the heart of ensuring that both our patients and our staff have been able to receive and provide care as safely as possible during these testing times.

They have done all of this and retained their warmth and their humour. They have been modest when receiving praise and have survived mainly on cups of tea and an occasional biscuit.
