Aisling Clifford, Adult Acute and Crisis Mental Health Services

Aisling Clifford, Executive Director

Aisling has worked in health care since her teenage years, beginning as a Health Care Assistant at her local community hospital.  She qualified as a Mental Health nurse in 2002 and has worked in various nursing and senior leadership roles in adult and older peoples’ community, inpatient, crisis and liaison services in London.

These roles included Programme Manager at the South London Partnership, and Associate Director and Deputy Director of Nursing roles at various London trusts.

Aisling joined Oxleas in September 2021 as the Service Director for the Adult Acute & Crisis Directorate.

Aisling has a particular interest in service user and carer contribution to service design and oversight; and is committed to creating the best conditions for front line clinicians to flourish. She has expertise in establishing a multi-agency approach to health care and has in-depth experience of working closely with Police, Ambulance, Local Authority and Health partners to simplify the care pathway for staff, patients and the public.

Aisling’s personal interests include genealogy and local history and she is an active participant in London’s Gaelic Football and folk music communities. She strongly supports the philosophy of using one’s personality and lived experience of illness to contribute to building empathetic and compassionate mental health services for the people of London.
