Time to Talk is part of a national programme to Improve Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT). It is for people with mild problems of anxiety or depression who are motivated to work to change the problem.
A team of 41 staff, 36 of them therapists, are now based in Eltham, though they will also see patients at other centres throughout the borough.
Greenwich Time to Talk offers psychological treatment as recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for anxiety and depression. This is mainly cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and counselling. CBT aims to help people change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour that are causing or maintaining current problems.
