Bracton BBQ raises £640

Bracton BBQ 2009 - 2

At first glance it looked like the Bracton Centre had acquired a new chef. Closer inspection however revealed the chef to be none other than John Enser, Director of Forensic and Prison Services and Bexley Mental Health Services.

John was heroically manning the Bracton’s splendid new BBQ at their annual summer fair on 29 July. The BBQ was built as part of a bricklaying project completed by service users from the Bracton and Memorial Hospital in partnership with Focal Point Training Services.

There was a great buzz as people enjoyed a delicious range of healthy foods and took part in activities including sponge throwing, football penalty practice, tombola and guessing the weight of a cake.  Patsy Fung, Head OT at the Bracton, said: “I would like to thank everyone who helped to make this fair such a success. We raised over £640, our best ever!” The money will benefit the Friends of Henry de Bracton charity.
