There was a busy schedule for the day including a band, carol singing, a table tennis tournament final and a raffle. Once the hall was set up and more guests began to arrive, everyone helped themselves to some tasty appetizers while the DJ played some popular Christmas songs. The festivities began with some energetic carol singing led by an accomplished band of musicians all connected with Oxleas, who even sang a couple of their own songs.

Those involved were treated to a tempting choice between curried goat and vegetable curry all prepared by staff. The fun continued with an exciting table tennis final, previous rounds of which had all taken place at Wednesday Club (which meets every week at the church hall). David Baker and Ian Moody battled for the top spot and after an exciting and fast paced match David won by a substantial lead.

Next there was a scramble for tickets as Mark McManus then led the draw for the raffle. Some excellent prizes had been donated including a large food hamper and the first prize, a mobile phone.

Of course no party would be complete without bright lights, a DJ and lots of dancing all of which rounded off the day, leaving everyone in good spirits. Truly a great way to begin the festive season.
