For some months now staff and service users on Hazelwood and Greenwood Units at the Memorial Hospital have been running a monthly market stall on the second Thursday or each month.

Yesterday (Thursday 10 November) staff and service users were helping to set up the stall which was festooned with cakes, soups and other tasty looking goodies. Emmanuel Imprain from Hazelwood helped make some delicious looking carrot cakes that morning. And though not something the author of this piece would normally do in November …  two splendid (hand made) Christmas cards were purchased.

The next stall is scheduled to be open for business on Thursday 8 December between noon and 2pm in the main foyer of the Memorial. It sells a selection of freshly made cakes, smoothies, soups, dips and for Christmas the stall will be selling hand-made Christmas cards.

According to occupational therapist, Narinder Sangha: “All proceeds will go into a trust fund, which will be used to fund college courses and acquiring resources for service users on the units.”
