Oxleas Council of Governors elections are taking place in July 2011. Become a member of Oxleas and you can vote for a representative on our Council of Governors, or even stand for election yourself.

There are 14 vacancies to fill:

  • Public Bromley: 2
  • Public Greenwich: 2
  • Service user/carer: 5
  • Staff: 5

Our governors play a vital role in helping us to serve our local communities, so it is important that members take part in elections, either as candidates or voters.

If you are aged over 14 and use our services or live in the boroughs of Bromley, Greenwich or Bexley you can become a member, and have a say in how your services are run.

Public Governor for Bexley, Stephen Brooks, says that members should consider standing for the Council of Governors (CoG): “The CoG is the route by which members’ concerns and ideas are fed back to the professionals in Oxleas. I would encourage any members who have used trust services, or cared for people who have, to get involved and stand for election.

It’s really important that voices from the local community are heard within the trust and that our members have a say in how Oxleas develops in future."

Nomination forms are being sent out to all members and must be returned by noon on Thursday 2 June. Once nominations have closed voting forms will be sent out which must be returned by 12 July.
