The Nurse of the Year Awards recognise and celebrate nursing excellence and promotes innovative practice across the trust.

As last year, awards will be made in three categories: Nursing Excellence; Patient and Carer Experience and Safety. A winner and runner up will be chosen for each of these categories. From the three category winners one nurse will be awarded the title 'Nurse of the Year 2012'.

The awards recognise and reward individual nurses who have made significant contributions to nursing practice over the past year. The winner of the 'Nurse of the Year 2012' will receive £500, the category winners will receive £250 and the runners up will receive £100. The awards will be presented at the trust's Annual Nursing Conference on 11 May 2012 at Charlton Athletic Football Club.

Staff, service users and carers are invited to nominate a nurse who they feel deserves an award and who has made a real contribution to improving practice. The award is open to all qualified and unqualified nurses from any service.

To make a nomination complete the nomination form which you can find attached below. Nominations along with supporting evidence should be sent to no later than 16 March 2012.
