Our Contraception and Sexual Health (CASH) service has again been
recognised in the 'You're Welcome' awards - providing young people friendly
services in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The award is a Charter mark backed by the Department of Health in, recognising an inclusive and supportive service for young people. The CASH service won an 'Outstanding Achievement ' award for contribution to You're Welcome and CASH Youth Worker, Ginny Stokes, received an 'Outstanding Achievement' award for her personal contribution.

The recent event was held at The Woolwich Centre and was
hosted by Mr Steve Whiteman, Director of Public Health for Greenwich. Ginny
works for CASH and the council. One of her roles has been to train and support
young people.

According to Dr Jane Dickson, Community Specialist with CASH: "Ginny has been
given this award in recognition of the outstanding support that she has given to
the young people of Greenwich, particularly in helping them to ensure that
services meet their needs."

CASH offers walk-in clinics promoting sexual health where patients get advice
and information on all methods of contraception, tests and treatment for sexually
transmitted infections, pregnancy advice well as testing and screening. Separate
clinics are held for young people and adults.

The 'You're Welcome' good practice guidance has been welcomed by
commissioners, professional bodies and organisations representing young
people.

The You're Welcome programme in Greenwich has been running since 2008. Its
focus is to support services (those offering health interventions) to become more
young people friendly. The programme is composed of a set of quality standards.
Services assess themselves against the quality standards and identify service
improvements. They are then assessed by a team of trained young assessors.
Once the service has reached the required ‘You're Welcome' standard and
received a positive report from the young assessor, the service is awarded the
You're Welcome Young People Friendly award by the You're Welcome
Moderation Panel. The service is then re-audited on an annual basis.
