Queen Mary's fact-finding visit for governors

Last week a large group of our governors and non executive directors were given a guided tour of the Queen Mary's Hospital site in Sidcup. We are planning to take over ownership of the site on 1 October with services to be provided by us and a number of other NHS organisations.

The business case is being developed which the Trust Board will look at in July. If the Board agrees the business case that decision will be put to our governors to approve. The visit was arranged to ensure governors are informed. Afterwards there was a lengthy discussion about Queen Mary's at our Council of Governors meeting.

Richard Diment, Public Governor in Bexley and member of our Queen Mary's Project Board said: "The visit has really put into context all of the opportunities we have been talking about. Seeing things on-site makes it easier to visualise. I believe this is a tremendous opportunity for the community in south east London and I'm sure that Oxleas and partners will deliver first class services at Queen Mary's."
