Advice and Guidance: How to get help

Many of our community based services will be closed this bank holiday Monday 26 August 2013. If you are feeling unwell over the weekend, there are a number of services that you can access.

  • For minor injuries and illnesses, you can visit your local Urgent Care Centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup or Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.  
  • For serious or life-threatening injuries or illness, please go to the A&E department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough or Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford.

Oxleas community health services

Over the bank holiday weekend, our district nursing services in Bexley and Greenwich will operate as normal. If you need to contact the service in Greenwich over the weekend, please call 020 8854 8888 between 9am and 4.45pm and 020 8856 5237 between 5pm and 10.45pm. You can contact the Bexley service on 020 8302 2678 between 8.30am and 5pm and 01322 294 300 from 5pm to 7am. 

The Joint Emergency Team, based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, will be available for urgent intermediate care and rehabilitation needs assessments. They can be contacted on 020 8836 5031. This service is for people who live in or a registered with a Greenwich GP. The Bexley Care Navigation Team will be available for assessment of Bexley residents. They can be contacted at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on 020 8836 6528/6514 bleep 527 and at Queen Mary’s Hospital on 020 8302 2678 bleep 606.

The Greenwich Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Team (COPD) will be available for patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COPD who need urgent advice between 9am and 5pm on 07843 641906.

Oxleas mental health services

Our adult mental health inpatient, mental health liaison and home treatment teams in Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich will operate as normal over the bank holiday weekend. Access to these services will be through the Queen Elizabeth and Princess Royal University Hospital A&E departments where the assessment teams are based.  Home Treatment team patients can contact the teams directly. You can also contact the Urgent Advice Line in Bexley on 0845 608 0525, in Bromley on 0845 608 0523 and in Greenwich on 0845 608 0524.
