Our innovative website for young people launched this summer has won its first award and been shortlisted for a second.

HeadScape was entered into the Youth category of The 5th Annual Lovie Awards, run by The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences.

As a gold winner, HeadScape has been selected as the best in Europe in its category.

In addition, the website has been shortlisted by HSJ in its national 2015 awards in the Innovation in Mental Health category. The shortlist will now be considered by a panel of judges before an awards ceremony in London in November.

'Thrilled with our success'

HeadScape has been designed for young people, by other young people, to help them understand and manage their mental wellbeing.

The website includes a screening tool for young people to complete which then provides them with personal advice and guidance around a variety of mental health conditions.

Designed to work on tablets, smart phones and PCs, the site is simple to use and highly visual with well-designed, colour-coded emoticons to represent feelings and situations.

Lesley French, Clinical Director of Children's Services at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust said: "We're thrilled with our success in these awards. We knew from asking young people that by far they preferred an online, self-help solution, with trustworthy advice and guidance that they could access in private. We developed HeadScape with them to offer just that."

Since we launched HeadScape in April, we've had almost 6,000 visits to the site, so we have helped a lot of children and young people explore and understand mental health issues that may be concerning them.
