We're a top NHS employer!

We’ve been ranked among the top 10 in the HSJ (Health Service Journal) list of 100 best NHS organisations to work for in England.

Oxleas was one of just 10 organisations singled out for praise in this annual celebration of the UK’s elite public sector healthcare employers, published on 7 July. The top 10 are not ranked.

The list covers acute trusts, community trusts, clinical commissioning groups and mental health trusts. We were one of just two mental health trusts to make it into the top 10.

Seven categories were used to measure how well each organisation performed - leadership and planning, corporate culture and communication, role satisfaction, role environment, relationship with supervisor, training development and resources and employee engagement.

The HSJ highlighted us as one of the best in the country for effective team working, effective appraisals, reporting errors/incidents, fairness of reporting incidents and not experiencing work related stress. Of the 837 staff who responded to the NHS staff survey this year, 74 per cent would recommend us as a place to work and 74 per cent would recommend our care services.

Responding to the results, Stephen Firn, our Chief Executive, said: “We know that providing excellent patient care relies on having highly motivated and engaged staff.  I am delighted that, despite all the pressures on the NHS, our staff say they continue to feel engaged and that they would recommend Oxleas as a place to be treated and to work.”
