Stephen Firn announces his retirement

Oxleas' Chief Executive, Stephen Firn 2016

Our Chief Executive, Stephen Firn, has announced his retirement at the end of March 2016.

Stephen, who became Chief Executive in 2002, said: "It has been both a privilege and an honour to be Chief Executive of this fantastic organisation for the last 14 years. Throughout this time, I have been constantly amazed and inspired by the dedication and professionalism of colleagues across our services."

Stephen has been on leave of absence following a family illness and bereavement and will be working part-time providing advice and support to the Board of Directors until he retires.

Ben Travis will continue to be Acting Chief Executive while recruitment to the role takes place. Recruitment of a new Chief Executive will begin this month and the recruitment process will involve our governors including those representing staff and service users.

Our Chair, Andy Trotter, marked Stephen’s great contribution to Oxleas saying: "Stephen has been an outstanding Chief Executive and will be greatly missed by everyone at Oxleas."
