Celebrity doctor visits Greenwich school

Expert advice was on hand from a celebrity doctor during a surprise visit to a Greenwich school.

Pupils and staff at Foxfield Primary School were excited to welcome ITV’s Dr Hilary who visited to speak about safety in the sun and the importance of Vitamin D in their young lives.

They learnt that Vitamin D is vital for healthy bones and that between April and the end of September, they get most of their Vitamin D from exposure to sunlight. However, they still need to ensure they are safe in the sun.

During his visit, Dr Hilary also spoke with Suky Gorasia, who works for Oxleas NHS as Foxfield’s school nurse, and was impressed that we have a named school nurse for each school in Greenwich borough.

Suky said: "It was great to welcome Dr Hilary to the school and the children had plenty of questions for him which he was very happy to answer."
