Oxleas launches new 0-4 service in Bromley borough

News: 0-4 Bromley Service launch

Oxleas is delighted to announce the launch of our new integrated Health Visiting and Family Nurse Partnership in Bromley.

The Healthy Child Programme is aimed at improving health and wellbeing, identifying additional needs early, building resilience and reducing health inequalities through targeted interventions.

This new service, which launches on 1 October, will offer families a variety of clinics and drop-in sessions delivered in a range of settings across the borough.

It will be delivered by multi-disciplinary teams, led by qualified Health Visitors at:

  • Community Vision Children and Family Centre in Beckenham
  • Stepping Stones in Mason’s Hill, Bromley
  • Blenheim Children and Family Centre in Orpington

A number of planned improvements will also take place over the coming months, including:

  • A dedicated single telephone number, 020 8836 8621 and email address oxl-tr.bromleycat@nhs.net to contact the health visiting service
  • Weekday Health Advice Clinics across the borough
  • Health visiting teams working closely with children and family centres to offer advice and support
  • A range of ways to contact the health visiting team including face-to-face appointments, clinics, the website and dedicated telephone number
  • Each GP practice will also have a named health visiting team available to GPs through the duty health visitor.

We will soon be launching our new Bromley Health Visiting website where families can access information about the new service and how it can support them. The site will include questionnaires which can be completed on their baby’s development and their own health. They can also send questions directly to a health visitor.

Stephen Whitmore, Director of Children and Young People’s Services said: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to provide such an important service to Bromley families and look forward to building on the knowledge and expertise of those currently working in the health visitor services and with new partners in the council."

Ben Travis, Chief Executive, said: “I’m really pleased that we will now be delivering the 0-4 service in Bromley. I’d like to thank everyone for all of their hard work during the bidding process.

“I’d like to extend a warm welcome to the staff who will be joining us from Bromley Healthcare, we're looking forward to working with you.”
