This week is Dying Matters Awareness Week and Oxleas will be supporting this year’s campaign with events in both Bexley and Greenwich.
Colleagues will be manning stalls in two locations, to encourage people to talk about death and create a friendly space for people to ask questions about end of life care issues. These could include making a will, planning a funeral or coping with bereavement.
The theme this year is ‘what can you do?’ and it challenges people to do something practical, either for themselves (such as making a will) or for others (cooking a meal for someone who is bereaved).
If you’d like to find out more, pop along and talk to our colleagues who will be at:
Maggie Grainger, Lead Nurse at Oxleas for end of life care, said: “Talking about death can be a bit awkward, but it is something we all have to face. Talking makes it easier to plan for and deal with when it happens.”
