Oxleas nurse shortlisted for two Nursing Times awards

Steve Hardy Nursing Times awards

The Nursing Times Awards 2018 have announced their shortlist and Oxleas is in the running for two awards.

Steve Hardy, who works as a practice development nurse with our Adult Learning Disability directorate, has been shortlisted in the Nurse of the Year and Learning Disability Nurse of the Year categories.

The awards provide an annual opportunity to see outstanding quality improvement projects from nurses and the teams they work with.

The Nurse of the Year award category recognises someone who has gone above and beyond in what is expected of them in the day-to-day role. They need to demonstrate how they have undertaken a piece of work on their own initiative that has required inspiration, determination and creativity. It must have had tangible positive outcomes such as improvements in patient care.

For the Learning Disability Nurse of the Year category, candidates must demonstrate the benefits of their work in terms of improved quality of life or increased independence.

Steve will now complete presentations and interviews to a specific judging panel made up of senior and influential figures from the health sector.

The winners of the 2018 Nursing Times Awards will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on 31 October at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London.
