Shine a light on our carers

News: Carers Week 2020

This week is Carers Week which aims to make caring visible and highlight the challenges faced by the 6.5m people who are caring, unpaid, for others who rely on their invaluable support.

As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, many more people are taking on caring responsibilities for their relatives and friends who are disabled, ill or older and need their support at this time.

This year, there are lots of ways to get involved – you can add your voice to a wall of voices, or pledge your support for this unseen, caring army, working tirelessly behind the scenes.

Michael Witney, Director of Therapies, said: "Carers Week raises awareness of the incredible contribution that carers make to families and communities across the UK. All of us have a part to play in ensuring that we shine a light on the carers in our community and their needs."

Charities Age UK, Carers Trust, Carers UK, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Oxfam and Rethink Mental Illness have joined together for this year’s event.
