Share caring experiences with peer support group in Greenwich

News: Carers support group

The Greenwich Carer Peer Support Group offers a safe space in the borough for those who care for someone with mental health needs to share stories and experiences.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the support group is meeting virtually via Zoom and will be holding its next meeting on Monday 21 September from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Members recognise that supporting and caring for someone with mental health needs can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience, but also at times, stressful and lonely.

The group aims are to:

  • Help you open up about what you are feeling and experiencing
  • Introduce you to ideas and approaches that others have found helpful
  • Offer reassurance that you are not alone
  • Help you to connect with others and gain a sense of belonging
  • Encourage you to value your strengths
  • Build your self-esteem and confidence
  • Help you to feel hopeful about the future
