Oxleas launches staff Covid vaccination programme

News: Vaccine week 1

Our staff vaccination programme at Oxleas started successfully this week. Over the next few days, we will be undertaking the first 900 vaccinations for colleagues working in our mental health and community health services. Vaccinations will continue over the coming weeks and we aim to vaccinate all members of staff by the end of next month.

Dr Abimbola Fadipe, our Deputy Medical Director and older adult consultant psychiatrist, was one of the first colleagues to receive her vaccination. “I’d like to encourage all staff, particularly those from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, to book an appointment to be vaccinated,” she said. “It is so important that we all play our part in beating this virus.”

Chief Executive Matthew Trainer welcomed the start of the vaccination programme. “It’s great to see Abi leading the way. Our best chance to beat this virus is by having the vaccination.”

Members of the public will continue to receive their vaccinations via primary care hubs and will be contacted individually with appointment details. More information is available at nhs.uk/covidvaccine.
