Celebrating International AHP Day with a difference

News: International AHP Day 2021

Did you know that Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) are the second largest clinical workforce in the NHS and that we have more than 400 amongst our workforce?

Each year, and in recognition of the inspirational work they do, International AHP Day is held in October – this year’s was the fourth nationally to take place.

At Oxleas, our AHPs work in five disciplines – dietetics, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry and speech and language therapy.

As part of the AHP celebrations, AHP teams at 12 sites were visited with the help of Owen from the First Step Trust and the theme for the day was ‘celebrating, appreciating, inspiring and connecting’. Team and individual awards were presented with celebration bags and cake.

The celebrations were coordinated by Felicity Devereux, Hannah Tomkins and Anna Gillespie, AHP Preceptorship Programme Leads and we were out and about to capture them in our short film.
