Bringing Christmas cheer to our in-patients

News: Voluntary Services 2021

The fantastic Voluntary Services Team at Oxleas NHS will be spreading some Christmas cheer to our in-patients on Christmas morning by presenting them with gifts.

Each year, dozens of gifts are given to those in hospital over the festive season, including those at Oaktree Lodge, Oxleas House and Eltham Community Hospital in Greenwich, the Woodlands unit at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Meadowview in Bexley and Green Parks House in Bromley.

There’s also 55 hampers ready to be distributed to our elderly patients living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, bursting full of festive treats including tea, coffee, mince pies and Christmas puddings.

The Christmas gifts for our in-patients were sponsored via the Oxleas NHS Trust Fund, and the hampers for our elderly patients were funded by a local charity in Greenwich.

Lin Sanders, from the Voluntary Services Team said: “We realise that this time can be particularly hard for our patients, especially as they are away from their families and loved ones and we hope this gesture helps in a small way to bring some Christmas cheer.”
