Taking forward Our Strategy 2021-4 with Great Out Of Hospital Care

News: Our Strategy 2021 - 24

Earlier this year, we launched Our Strategy 2021-24, which identified three big priorities. The second of these is providing Great Out of Hospital Care.

The majority of people that receive support from Oxleas do so in a community setting and these services are essential for helping people in South East London to lead sustainable and fulfilling lives.

Our Great Out of Hospital Care programme aims to deliver:

  • Access to mental health support services that enable people to live sustainably in the community
  • People are supported by community physical healthcare services, reducing the need to visit A&E
  • Mental health Oxleas beds closer to home if and when required

In our short film, Joint Interim Medical Director, Abi Fadipe, who is leading this workstream, talks about the importance of this programme and how it is being taken forward.

She said: “We want our out of hospital care to be the very best it can be, by providing people with the tools, skills and services they need to manage their conditions in their own communities. Our aim is to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of those who support them.”
