Sky News visits Oxleas Mental Health Services

News: Matthew Trainer Sky

Sky News is today (12/2/2021) featuring our mental health services, following a visit from their health correspondent, Ashish Joshi, to Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup.

Ashish visited to learn more about our mental health services and spoke to staff about how the trust has been been adapting services during the pandemic, to meet the needs of our service users and handle the changes in demand that we are experiencing.

You can watch the report on Sky News YouTube channel:

Matthew Trainer, Chief Executive of Oxleas NHS, said: "It's important to talk about mental health services during the pandemic and share how our services have adapted to continue to support people. It is right that we focus a lot of attention on critical care and how they are coping, but we mustn't overlook how hard our mental health staff are also working to support the people who depend on them, even more so at a time like this.

I'm really proud of our teams at Oxleas and I would have liked to show every one of our services in the story - I think it's right that our great workforce is recognised in the national media."
