Podiatry Bexley

Podiatry is the preventative care, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs.

The team provides a high risk adult service only; patients are only eligible for treatment if they are currently at risk of developing foot ulceration (ie have peripheral sensory neuropathy, PVD or past/present foot ulceration).

The team treats patients with a range of medical conditions such as diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as providing routine treatments and wound care, as well as a nail surgery service to people over the age of 18.

The Podiatry team is open between 8.30am and 4.30pm.

GP referral information

Referrals are accepted from GPs and other healthcare professionals. Complete the referral form and fax it to the number on the right.

Commissioned eligibility criteria:

  • over 18 years of age
  • registered with a Bexley GP
  • live within reasonable travelling time of the boundaries of the London Borough of Bexley
  • have a medical condition that is currently affecting their feet and may potentially lead to foot ulceration (ie have past or present foot ulceration, neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, retinopathy or nephropathy)
  • Podiatry will also surgically remove painful ingrowing toenails under local anaesthetic, but only if the person can attend clinic.

The Podiatry team is open between 8.30am and 4.30pm.
