Debbie Batstone is a social worker by professional and currently has two roles within the Adult Mental Health and Learning Disabilities directorate of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. She is a Dual Diagnosis Worker working with residents of Bromley who require support for their substance/alcohol use alongside their mental health needs. Debbie also works as the Project Lead for the Spirit Study.
She has been employed by the Trust since 1998 working in various roles including project worker, Approved Mental Health Professional and Drugs and Alcohol Social Worker.
Having completed an advanced Motivational Interviewing course last year, Debbie uses her MI skills in her everyday clinical work and is involved in rolling out the training to the Trust. Her role as Project Lead for the Spirit Study consists of co-ordinating the three strands of research that are currently being undertaken around the effectiveness of Motivational Interviewing to service users and staff.
