SALT: Baby play

Short film by the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service at Oxleas.

Greenwich Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team offer baby play sessions at all children’s centres across the royal borough of Greenwich.  These are one off group sessions for babies aged 6-15 months and are often run joint with Oral Health, Health Visitors and other Early Years professionals.

At these sessions the Speech and Language Therapist or a Speech and Language Therapy assistant will demonstrate to parents and carers a variety of activities aimed at developing early communication skills.

They will discuss strategies to support language development and will cover frequently asked questions regarding issues such as speaking more than one language, using dummies and watching television. Up to five families can be invited to each group.

To book a place on one of these sessions, parents and carers should contact their local children centre.
