As a provider of clinical services Oxleas is responsible for a wide range of health care across South East London and Kent, including community services, mental health and learning disability services. Our staff work in many places including people’s homes, community health centres, schools, prisons and hospitals.

Oxleas has excellent results from surveys of Speciality (SAS) doctors and of trainees. The Staff Survey shows that Oxleas is above average in many domains, including staff engagement, safety culture, quality of care, quality of appraisals and managerial support. Watch our videos in this section to discover how the Trust continues to achieve excellence in training, developing doctors at all stages of their careers to fulfil their leadership potential and deliver quality outcomes.

Oxleas is proud of its culture, which is inclusive, supportive and enables all staff to meet the challenges of delivering high-quality care. Our latest CQC inspection found us to be “good” across all our services with some areas judged to be “outstanding”. NHS evaluations show that Oxleas is financially well-managed.

We serve diverse communities and our workforce reflects that diversity at many levels within the organisation.  We have a range of staff networks aimed at supporting staff: Oxleas Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Staff Network; Oxleas LGBTrans+ Staff Network; and the Oxleas Lived Experience Network for staff members who have experience of mental health difficulties.  We are also in the process of establishing a network for staff with disabilities.

Oxleas has recently established a Leadership Programme which is open to all staff across the Trust.

The medical workforce is a small professional group with significant impact across all Oxleas services. They comprise of Consultants, Specialty (SAS) Doctors, Trust Doctors and Doctors in Training (Junior Doctors).
