We are a second tier community paediatric audiology service based at Bungalow 3, Wensley Close, Eltham. We also run clinics at Plumstead Health Centre.
We provide hearing tests for children of all ages who have hearing difficulties including those with middle ear disorders and complex needs.
Where clinically necessary we may refer children to a tertiary audiology service, an ear, nose and throat surgeon or their GP.
How to access this service
If there are concerns about a child or young person's hearing acuity, any healthcare professional involved in the child’s care can complete and send this referral form and email it to oxl-tr.childrenstherapies@nhs.net or post it to Single Point of Access Greenwich, Memorial Hospital, Shooters Hill, London, SE18 3RG.
The child must be registered with a Greenwich GP.
Aetiological investigations
We also provide an aetiological investigations service once a month at Acorns, Queen Mary's Hospital, Frognal Place, Sidcup, DA14 6LT. A specialist consultant community paediatrician can request a range of tests to try and determine the possible causes of deafness.
Referrals for aetiological investigations will only be accepted from an Audiologist, Audio vestibular physician or an ENT surgeon after a sensorineural hearing loss has been confirmed and parental consent for the referral is recorded.
Please send a copy of the child's latest audiological report with your reason for referral with parental consent to oxl-tr.bexleyscs-spa@nhs.net or post it to Audiology, Single Point of Access Bexley, Acorns, Queen Mary's Hospital, Frognal Place, Sidcup, DA14 6LT.
The child must be registered with a Greenwich GP.
