Biggin Hill Community Care Association is a registered charity working in the Biggin Hill area supporting local people.
BHCCA has a Day Centre Club on Tuesdays and Thursday for the elderly and housebound. The Club provides friendship and stimulation through social interaction and activities including occasional outings. Transport can be provided. Short term respite Day Care is available on these days as well as an assisted bathing service.
The Wednesday Lunch Club is for retired people who would like a freshly cooked three course meal followed by a social time with refreshments.
An Assisted Shopping Service is for elderly people who find it difficult to get to the shops and who do not have anyone to do the shopping for them. Shoppers are collected from their homes and taken to the shops in Biggin Hill. Refreshments are provided afterwards.
For people who are isolated or housebound BHCCA have volunteers with the Community Home Visiting scheme who will visit for company and support.
An Art Room takes place on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm where all retired people are welcome - whether they are a novice or an expert - to start a new hobby or rekindle a previous interest.
A Sing For Fun group meets once a month on a Tuesday afternoon just for the enjoyment of singing - no musical experience is required.
A stitching group meets on a Wednesday which is not a class but is for people with an interest in tapestry, cross stitch or embroidery to get together along with a cup of tea.
Hi-Kent hold an NHS hearing aid maintenance session on the fourth Thursday in the month from 1pm to 2.30pm. This service is free and no appointment is necessary. For more details please call 01622 691151
Age UK Bromley and Greenwich operate a nail clipping service from the Centre for Bromley residents (50+). For more details please call 0208 315 1850.
