What we offer
Our aim is to help you maximise independence in your daily life so that you can do the things you want to do. We will work with you in your own environment: at home, in your day centre or at work,. We can work with you, your family, friends or carers.
How to access the service
You can be referred to our service by:
Please note that we are not an emergency service. If you need help urgently, please contact your GP.
You can contact us Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm on the numbers on the right hand side of this page.
The Oxleas Patient Experience survey gives you the opportunity to feedback on the care and treatment you have received. We also encourage your friends, family and carers to also provide feedback. Hearing your views gives us a better understanding of the needs of our patients, families and carers which helps us to make sure that we are providing a good standard of care.
The short survey only takes a few minutes to complete and you can provide a written comment explaining what you think is working well and what is not. The Patient Experience team will collect the results of the surveys and these are shared with the relevant departments and management teams. This helps us to shape our services to continually improve the quality of the care and treatment we provide.

Dear Sir,
Could you help me, in 1983 I had a benign Astrocytoma exhumed from the centre of my brain, “Para ventricle”, The operation was carried out privately due to the NHS refusing to fund the operation, because of the size and the depth of the tumour in my brain.
In 2008 I suffered a stroke with-in the Putamen that was wrongly diagnosed as Epilepsy due to my medical history for a few years.
It was only because I went back to my original Neurosurgeons team, who diagnosed the infarct in the Putamen area of my brain. Can you do anything to help me?
Dear Mark
Please contact your GP and ask for a referral to the Greenwich Community Neuro Team at Oxleas.
Once this is received we will be in touch with you to establish what your difficulties are, what we will be able to do for you and any rehab/support we can offer.
Best wishes
Ishbel Gray

Hiyah,
As a ms suffer I am interested in the occupational therapy service you provide?
Regards
Hugh
Dear Hugh
Thank you for your enquiry.
Oxleas have two Neurorehabilitation Teams, one for people who live in Greenwich and have a Greenwich GP, and one for people who live in Bexley and have a Bexley GP.
Both teams have Occupational Therapists and provide a broadly similar service. We provide short episodes of neurological rehabilitation, which can be in your home, or any place best suited to achieving your goals (eg leisure centre, work place, community).
All rehabilitation is aimed at helping you to self- manage your neurological condition, and maximise your independence, productivity and satisfaction. We accept referrals from GPs, Consultant Neurologists, MS Specialist Nurses, or any healthcare professional.
As you asked specifically about Occupational Therapy (OT) for people with MS (RR and PP), their aims are to enable you to manage your day to day tasks and activities in a way that contributes to your physical, social and emotional well-being. They work with you to look at altering the way a task is performed, or adapting the physical environment, teaching you a new skill, or working with you to regain old ones.
I will email you with additional information and my contact details should you have further questions.
Kind regards
Alec Sutton
