Home Treatment Team - Bromley Bromley

The home treatment team (HTT) is based at Green Parks House.

The HTT offers short-term intensive therapeutic interventions to adults living within the borough of Bromley who are suffering from an acute mental health crisis and would otherwise require admission to an acute mental health hospital bed.

Individuals are enabled to remain at home (or suitable community alternative) during the process of crisis resolution.

The home treatment team also works closely with the bed management and senior nurses at Green Parks House to offer a ‘Gate keeping’ service whereby all referrals of those service users who are in crisis and potentially need HTT or an inpatient stay come through ‘Gate keeping’. The purpose is to assist professionals and service users offering more in depth treatment at home as an alternative to an inpatient stay. Where appropriate, referrals can be made by the community mental health teams within Bromley.

Oxleas Patient Experience survey

The Oxleas Patient Experience survey gives you the opportunity to feedback on the care and treatment you have received. We also encourage your friends, family and carers to also provide feedback. Hearing your views gives us a better understanding of the needs of our patients, families and carers which helps us to make sure that we are providing a good standard of care.

The short survey only takes a few minutes to complete and you can provide a written comment explaining what you think is working well and what is not. The Patient Experience team will collect the results of the surveys and these are shared with the relevant departments and management teams. This helps us to shape our services to continually improve the quality of the care and treatment we provide.

How would I go about accessing home treatment

Dear Ben

Thanks for your message.

Home Treatment is a short term offer to enable our patients to be looked after at home as opposed to being admitted to hospital when they are acutely unwell.

All our other mental health services in Bromley can refer patients into the team if this type of intensive support is needed.

If you are linked with a mental health professional in Oxleas, I am sure that they will be able to talk to you further about this.

If you are not already an Oxleas patient, your GP would be the best person to talk with about accessing the help you need.

I hope that helps, but will email you in case you need further advice.

Best wishes

Estelle Frost
Bromley Service Director

I was 'supported' by the home treatment team when I faced my third serious episode of depression. May I firstly thank Fiona for her excellent understanding ability to empathise with my dire situation and her care; unfortunately I only saw her twice and spoke to her on the phone twice. I am sorry to tell you how let down I feel by other 'health care professionals' who came into my home and did not have compassion or much understanding of my depression. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my experiences with anyone who has the agency to improve this 'service' because I do not want anyone else to go through what I did when I needed help so much.

Dear Denise

Thank you for taking the time to contact us, and I'm very sorry to learn of your experience. I will contact you shortly outside of this online response to learn more about your experience and how we can learn from this and better assist you.

Kind regards

Dr Derek Tracy
