Musculoskeletal Adult Service Greenwich

Musculoskeletal is an overall term for conditions affecting your muscles, joints and sometimes nerves. The Musculoskeletal Adult Service aims to prevent the need for hospital treatment by providing experts in the community who can assess and treat your condition or direct you to the right service first time with all the necessary tests completed prior to you being seen.

Benefits of the Adult  Musculoskeletal Service

  • Faster access to assessment, tests and treatment
  • Treatment by the correct specialist
  • Access to expert clinicians in the community to assess, treat and advise you regarding your musculoskeletal health
  • Shorter waiting times compared to hospital treatment
  • Specialist diagnostic and treatment techniques including sonography, injection therapy, extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), specialist gait analysis, acupuncture and pain management.

How do I access the service?

If you are experiencing joint or muscular pains, please visit your GP. If they feel that you would benefit from a specialist assessment, they will complete a referral on your behalf.

Dear sir/madam

I would like to thank you for the service you provided and in particular the physiotherapist Victoria English.

After a few consultations she had me back walking without pain and mobile again. She was diligent and thorough. All explanations were clear and concise delivered in an encouraging and patient manner.

Her diagnosis was accurate and therefore built a sense of hope that made perseverance easier.

Many Thanks

Tony

Dear Tony

Thank you so much for your kind words about Victoria, who is a physiotherapist within our Greenwich MSK (musculoskeletal) service. I am really pleased that you are now pain free and mobile.

Thanks once again for this extremely positive feedback.

I can honestly say that I have no complaints about any aspect of the treatment,
communication and helpfulness of ALL the staff I had any dealings with, everyone
seemed to go out of their way to help and make sure I understood all aspects of
my treatment. And, have to say, has helped greatly. Working under difficult conditions,
I have nothing but praise for all concerned, Thank you.

I write to say thank you for the excellent treatment I received from Pieter. I was able to access physiotherapy relatively quickly, and felt my particular condition was treated seriously and professionally. I felt motivated every week to undertake the various exercises, and now have a maintenance programme to work on for life. I learned a great deal from Pieter, and have benefited from his expertise. I know how to manage my pain for the future. I also enjoyed visiting the locations - Kidbrooke Village and The Greenwich Centre. It makes a difference to have treatment in pleasant surroundings.

Dear Wendy

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. The trust is really pleased that you have benefited from the interventions of the MSK service. We will make sure that Pieter receives your positive comments.

Kind regards
