I became an appointed Governor in 2023 representing the London Borough of Bexley.
I am currently serving as an elected Councillor for the London Borough of Bexley. As a local authority Councillor with health scrutiny responsibilities, plus being a Bexley resident and NHS service user, I am keenly interested in working with others to applaud best practice and to seek ongoing improvements in service provision. Being an Oxleas Governor is a great honour and I hope to be able to add some value, providing a representative voice as an elected local authority Councillor.
My Councillor responsibilities include serving on the Council’s Adult Social Care & Health scrutiny committee and the Children’s Services & Education scrutiny committee.
I volunteer in a local charity that supports older residents to live healthy and productive lives.
My previous career was in management, providing various services for children and young people, aged from ante-natal to 25, together with a multi-agency, multi-discplinary team, which included health care professionals.
I also sat on two Boards of Trustees, have been a School Governor and a member of a race equality advisory board in my local church.
