Helping you find the right information
Early Years FAQs
You can refer directly to us using this form *referral form link*. Anyone can refer; parents, GPs, Health Visitors, other health professionals, nursery staff and childminders.
Please ensure the person making the referral knows the child well. Please include as much detail as possible about the concerns. A lack of information may lead to the referral being declined at triage.
If you have a pre-school child (not yet started in reception) they must have a Greenwich GP to access our service.
You will receive a letter letting you know if your child has been accepted for an assessment, and if not, why not. If your child has been accepted for an assessment you will receive a letter and an email with the details of the appointment. You won’t receive this until a few weeks before the appointment date. For some appointments you will receive a letter asking you to call in and book your appointment.
We will arrange an interpreter to attend your appointment. They may attend in person, via video call or on the phone. Please let us know if you need an interpreter and tell us which languages you speak.
We’re working hard and aiming for all children to be seen within the national guidelines of 18 weeks. Sometimes the wait will be longer. There is a priority system in place and children with urgent clinical needs such as dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) will be seen sooner.
There are a number of reasons why your child might have been discharged;
· They have achieved all their targets and no longer need specialist support
· We tried to contact you but weren’t successful
· Your child was not bought to their appointment/s
· Your child is no longer eligible for our service i.e you’ve moved out of Greenwich or changed your GP.
