Dr Peter Stevens | Forensic and Offender Healthcare Services

Dr Peter Stevens is Joint Clinical Director of Forensic and Offender Healthcare Services, a Chartered Consultant Clinical and Forensic Psychologist and head of profession for Forensic and Offender Healthcare Psychological Therapies services.

 

He is the Clinical Lead for the Forensic Learning Disability and Autism Pathway of the South London Mental Health Partnership Provider Collaborative and a Mental Health Act-approved Responsible Clinician on Heath Clinic, a medium secure ward at the Bracton Centre. He is a member of the BPS MHA Advisory Group and is the BPS representative at the MHA S12 and AC/RC National Reference Group.  

 

Peter has extensive experience in the psychological assessment and treatment of individuals in forensic community, inpatient secure, and prison health contexts, in criminal and civil court proceedings and for the probation service.

He is professionally responsible for the delivery of psychological therapies in south London, Kent and south-west prisons and for Oxleas' community and secure inpatient psychological therapy services. Peter has post-doctoral diplomas in Forensic Psychotherapy from the Portman Clinic and in Professional Practice in Mental Health Law from the University of Northumbria.
