Employment Support Service

Helping you find satisfaction and fulfilment through the world of work

Our Employment Support Service offers employment advice to people who have mental health difficulties and are receiving treatment through Greenwich Time to Talk.

Following a referral by your IAPT therapist, we can either help you find employment or offer you support to remain in or return to work. The advice we offer is tailored to help you achieve your work-based goals, which research has shown can improve your health and wellbeing.

We also offer advice to employers to promote wellbeing in the workplace and to support, retain and empower staff.

Finding work

We offer advice, information and guidance on searching for jobs, support with CVs, writing applications and cover letters, interview preparation, accessing training and work experience opportunities and building your confidence to move into paid employment.

Staying in or returning to work

Sometimes work can become challenging, leading to anxiety and stress and it can be difficult to return after a period of illness. We can support you to address workplace concerns and advise you of your rights to help you remain in work. We can also liaise with your employer with your consent, to ensure a smooth transition and a sustained return to work.

Advice for employers

Encouraging wellbeing in the workplace leads to a healthier, happier and more productive workforce. We can work impartially and in collaboration with employers and the employee to address workplace issues, develop back-to-work plans, and explore reasonable adjustments to help promote wellbeing at work.

Our Employment Team is a member of the National Job Retention Network, a specialist resource for employers, employees and employment advisors offering advice, information, tools and training.
