Jim Shaikh has an engineering background and is an entrepreneur having run his own business for the past 20 years.

He started his career as an academic but moved into the automotive industry and ultimately into new product design and development. His entrepreneurial journey started after studying for an MBA and growing a successful product design consultancy. He then raised investment to develop a new consumer product range in the nursery sector and grew the business to distribution in 20 countries before selling the business.

He now supports and manages university technology spin-out companies from Queen Mary, University of London.
