Celebrating progress in eliminating Hepatitis C

Representatives from Oxleas were delighted to attend a Parliamentary reception earlier this month to celebrate progress in England to eliminate Hepatitis C.
Michelle Storer and Kate Williams, of our Forensic and Offender Healthcare Services directorate, represented Oxleas in recognition of the work that has been undertaken in our prison health services.
Physical health nursing practice lead Kate has been part of a national working group looking at how the condition can be eliminated and this success sustained. She was proud to be able to represent the trust at the event.
Kate said:
The World Health Organisation are impressed with England, as one of 11 countries on target to be HEPC free by 2030. "It was a lovely morning to focus on the achievements so far.
The event was hosted by Peter Dowd MP in partnership with The Hepatitis C Trust.
Further details about the programme can be found in the newly published report: Sustaining Success: Principles to Achieve and Maintain Hepatitis C Elimination in England by The Hepatitis C Trust.
