 Help in a crisis

It's time to celebrate your healthcare heroes

Scene from our Recognition Awards 2022

Do you know a team or an individual who have gone above and beyond in the past year and deserve special recognition for their outstanding work?

If so, now’s the time to nominate them in our Recognition Awards 2023.

Our fantastic values we’re kind, we’re fair, we listen, we care and our strategy’s big priorities and building blocks are the focus for our awards this year.

We are looking for a 'Team of the Year' from each of our directorates. Who do you know who is putting our values or strategy into action, making a real difference to our services and the experience of our service users and our teams?

Our ‘Governors’ Award’ is for an individual who has gone ‘above and beyond’ to put the trust values of ‘we’re kind’ and ‘we care’ into action. Who do you know who is not afraid to inspire, innovate and ‘go the extra mile’ to make life better for those who need our help?

Our ‘Shadow Executive Award’ is for an individual who has gone ‘above and beyond’ to help Make Oxleas a Great Place to Work. Who goes out of their way to take the best possible care of their colleagues? This could be through giving colleagues the opportunity to develop and thrive, enabling them to feel supported to give their best every day, and through treating them kindly, fairly and with care.

Our ‘Volunteer of the Year Award’ is for an Oxleas volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution through volunteering within our services or supporting our service users, carers and staff.

You can nominate as many times as you wish in both our team and individual award categories. Nominations are quick and easy to make.

For an Easy Read form, please call Sharon Rodrigues on 020 8269 3325.

But be quick! We have extended the closing date for entries to 5pm on Wednesday 18 October 2023.

Media enquiries

The communications team provides a point of contact for journalists to respond to all media enquiries.

We are happy to help journalists represent the trust accurately, so please do get in touch to ensure your facts and information are up-to-date before publishing your story.

Our media team is responsible for:

  • Responding to media queries
  • Arranging interviews with our nationally and internationally renowned experts who can talk about some of the trust’s specialist topics

For all media enquiries Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, please email oxl-tr.communications@nhs.net where a member of the team will review and action your request.

If you have an urgent enquiry outside of office hours or at the weekend, please contact our director on call via the Bracton Centre switchboard on 01322 294300.

Filming and photography requests

We receive documentary, location and broadcast filming requests on a regular basis – we consider all proposals on an individual basis and will try to accommodate proposals where possible, if appropriate.

No photography or filming is permitted without prior arrangement and agreement. Our patients always come first and we have a duty to protect their safety and confidentiality. Anyone found filming or taking photographs on the trust premises without the permission of the trust’s communications team will be asked to leave by the security department and may face prosecution.

Unless agreed otherwise, film crews and photographers must be accompanied by a member of the Communications Team at all times.
