 Help in a crisis

Join us to support young people’s mental health

This week is Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, a time to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

The theme for this year’s week of action is This is My Place, which aims to support the systems around children and young people to help them feel they belong.

This year, we’ve connected with two young people to find out what Children’s Mental Health Week means to them.

Meet previous DBT service user, Jess, in this short film to hear about where she feels safe:

A young person with lived experience of CAMHS has also written a poem to share during this important week:

My Burden

Mental health, what is it?
Such a burden to some,
When faced with anxiety,
How overwhelming it can become.

Such a stigma, ‘Mental Health’,

We simply drown the word out,
With denial and suppression
To feel, there is nowt

Cries for help escape my lips,
But there’s no one to listen,
This burden I carry,
My mind, trapped in its prison.

I did make it, you can too so hear my advice
I escaped this living hell
Through talking, being brave
No longer do I dwell.

Reach out, seek support
Your burden will feel lighter,
Talk it out, write it down,
I promise you’re a fighter

The battle is long from over dear viewer
But like me, you’ll get better, your burdens will be fewer.

Place 2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week has taken place every February since 2015 to give a voice to all children and young people and to raise awareness of children and young people’s mental health.

Media enquiries

The communications team provides a point of contact for journalists to respond to all media enquiries.

We are happy to help journalists represent the trust accurately, so please do get in touch to ensure your facts and information are up-to-date before publishing your story.

Our media team is responsible for:

  • Responding to media queries
  • Arranging interviews with our nationally and internationally renowned experts who can talk about some of the trust’s specialist topics

For all media enquiries Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, please email oxl-tr.communications@nhs.net where a member of the team will review and action your request.

If you have an urgent enquiry outside of office hours or at the weekend, please contact our director on call via the Bracton Centre switchboard on 01322 294300.

Filming and photography requests

We receive documentary, location and broadcast filming requests on a regular basis – we consider all proposals on an individual basis and will try to accommodate proposals where possible, if appropriate.

No photography or filming is permitted without prior arrangement and agreement. Our patients always come first and we have a duty to protect their safety and confidentiality. Anyone found filming or taking photographs on the trust premises without the permission of the trust’s communications team will be asked to leave by the security department and may face prosecution.

Unless agreed otherwise, film crews and photographers must be accompanied by a member of the Communications Team at all times.
