We were pleased to welcome local MP Clive Efford to our Time to Talk service in Greenwich and to share with him how we have increased the diversity of people using our talking therapies service.
Colleagues shared how they have worked with local community leaders to deliver workshops on common mental health difficulties adapted to the culture and needs of the local population.
These workshops offered people tools to support their mental health and raised awareness of our service. More than 1,500 people attended the workshops and gave very positive feedback.
Accompanied by our Chair, Andrew George and Chief Medical Officer, Dr Abi Fadipe, Mr Efford was impressed by the service, saying:
It's great to visit the staff at Greenwich Time to Talk last week and to hear about the work they're doing to support people across Greenwich struggling with their mental health.
Time to Talk offer talking therapies to those struggling with mild problems of stress, depression or anxiety. Anyone in Greenwich can make a self-referral if they are in need of support or by visiting Greenwich Time to Talk.
