More mental health inpatient beds open

Green Parks House website

Oxleas has opened a ward at Green Parks House, Bromley, which had been closed during the Covid pandemic.

It aims to increase our bed availability and contribute to the suite of work aimed to reduce delays to patients waiting for beds and reliance on out of area placements. Although demand for inpatient services initially dropped during Covid and staff absences were problematic, the need for inpatient care has increased consistently over recent months.

Goddington Ward has re-opened this week to provide extra inpatient mental health beds across the trust.

Members of the Acute and Crisis Mental Health directorate team have worked hard to prepare the ward and the number of patients will be increasing over the coming days to a maximum of 16.

Information on the ward is available in our service listings
