Our corporate governance apprentice role is now live on NHS Jobs and could be just the opportunity a local school leaver or university graduate is looking for.
As an organisation that spends public money to provide healthcare services, it is important that Oxleas has excellent governance systems in place.
These aim to make sure that we meet national regulations to provide high quality care, use public funds effectively and look after our staff and patients.
We have a small corporate governance team that drives this work and the apprentice role will be an entry into this area of work.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the Level 4 Governance Officer Apprentice programme online and will be supported in their studies to complete this.
The role is a 20-month fixed term contract to enable the successful candidate to complete the apprenticeship course.
Sally Bryden, Director of Corporate Affairs and Trust Secretary, said:
We are really pleased to have set up this role and see it as part of our duty as a local employer to create opportunities for people at an early stage of their career.
People may not have thought of this as a career route but most organisations have a Company Secretary type role so the skills gained will be very transferable.
An interest in how organisations take decisions and hold themselves accountable is key to this role.
