Oxleas NHS celebrates commitment to real living wage

We’re delighted to announce that Oxleas NHS has been accredited as a Living Wage Employer.

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is based on the Kent/South-East London borders and our Living Wage commitment as a trust to provide a real living wage will see everyone receive a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.

The real Living Wage is calculated according to the costs of living and is a voluntary benchmark for employers who wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on.

We have committed to a minimum hourly wage which is significantly higher than the government minimum for over 23s of £9.50 per hour in London and the South-East.

Rachel Evans, Director for Strategy and People at Oxleas NHS, said: “This is fantastic news. It is so important that our Oxleas staff and contractors receive a fair wage, particularly given the cost-of-living crisis.”

Katherine Chapman, Director of the Living Wage Foundation, said: “We’re delighted that Oxleas NHS has joined almost 9,000 responsible employers across the UK who recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer.”
