Caroline, who leads the NHS’ work in the capital, toured the hospital site meeting Oxleas staff who provide mental and physical health services for people of all ages.
Oxleas Chair Andy Trotter was delighted to show the range of care provided at Queen Mary’s. He said:
“It is a true healthcare partnership bringing high quality care closer to local communities. Queen Mary’s is growing from strength to strength and we look forward to even more services opening on the site.”
Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust became the owners of Queen Mary's Hospital in 2013. We provide a wide range of services at the hospital and run the estate for the other NHS and healthcare organisations providing services there.
The latest development at the site is the granting of formal approval and £9.6M of funding by NHS England for a new community diagnostic centre. The centre will provide more than 50,000 diagnostic tests annually including blood tests, CT and MRI scans and X-rays.
