We were thrilled to bring together such a dedicated, talented, and passionate group of professionals who are all deeply committed to advancing the quality of care, services, and opportunities for our communities across South London, Kent and South West England.
This year’s event at the KIA Oval in Kennington on 28 November, focused on connecting, collaborating, and inspiring one another through the applications of AI in healthcare.
Delegates had the opportunity to hear from leading experts, including keynote speaker Dr Umang Patel, Chief Clinical Information Officer at Microsoft UK as well as participate in workshops and engage in discussions on best practices, new models, and emerging digital solutions in improvement and innovation.
Knowledge flowed freely, ideas were raised and challenged, and many felt emboldened to share their thoughts and contribute throughout the event.
Big questions were asked, complex challenges tackled and a proposed vision for the future shared. The South London Learning and Improvement Alliance (SoLLIA) was also launched.
It’s through events like these that we gain the insights, motivation, and partnerships that help turn great ideas into impactful, lasting changes.
Dr Billy Boland, Clinical Director for Mental Health for NHS England London Region, said:
“I was delighted to be part of this great conference. It was brilliant to catch up and meet new people. I’m so pleased that the South London Learning and Improvement Alliance has now launched, this will certainly benefit Quality Improvement more broadly – there is so much potential for this. Let us make sure we make the most of it”.
Dr Umang Patel said:
"The energy in the room was palpable, I loved being able to feed off it as we look to help each other be the best we can be for our patients and our colleagues. Already looking forward to the next conference!"
Victoria Saffin, Assistant Director of Quality Management, for Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust said:
"The third SLP Innovation and Improvement conference was a great success. It was a powerful gathering of healthcare professionals and those with lived experience, where shared knowledge, ideas and strategies were discussed - united by the common goal of making care better, safer and more equitable for all."
